Our Pastors

David & Emma

Introducing Pastor Dave Morgan: From Bouncer to Believer, Leading Souls to Abundant Life!

Born and bred in the beautiful city of Swansea, Wales, Pastor Dave Morgan’s life journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Before he found his true calling, Dave had a diverse and challenging past that shaped him into the passionate and dedicated leader he is today.

In his younger years, Dave worked as a bouncer, displaying the strength and resilience that would later serve him well in his spiritual journey. Additionally, his dedication to martial arts led him to become a karate champion, showcasing his discipline and determination.

However, amidst his success, Dave found himself battling with the grips of drug addiction. It was during this challenging time that he experienced a transformative encounter with Jesus Christ. Almost two decades ago, he surrendered his heart to the love and grace of the Savior, and that decision changed the trajectory of his life forever.

Today, Pastor Dave Morgan is a living testament to the transformative power of faith. For 17 years, he has been joyfully married to his amazing wife, Emma. Together, they have been the spiritual pillars of King’s Church Swansea for the last decade. This church holds a special place in their hearts, where they were born again, married, baptised, and ordained.

Under Dave and Emma’s nurturing and loving guidance, King’s Church Swansea has flourished, growing from strength to strength. Their deep-rooted commitment to shepherding the congregation has borne fruit, and they have extended their ministry’s reach to the neighbouring town of Llanelli, where another thriving church has emerged.

Pastor Dave’s heart beats for the lost, passionately desiring to see God’s people embrace the abundant life that Jesus sacrificed everything to secure. He is a dedicated teacher and preacher of God’s holy word, empowering individuals to stand firmly on the promises of God, regardless of life’s challenges.

Pastor Dave & Emma

A key aspect of Dave and Emma’s ministry has been the establishment of a friendly “come as you are” culture within their congregation. At King’s Church, they have fostered an atmosphere of friendship, faith, and fellowship where people experience the genuine love of Jesus and one another.

In this spirit-filled, Jesus and people-loving church, Pastor Dave Morgan continues to lead with an unwavering passion for seeing lives transformed by the grace of God. Through his teachings and sermons, he empowers individuals to walk confidently on the path Jesus set before them.

So, if you’re seeking a welcoming church that embodies the essence of love, faith, and community, look no further than King’s Church Swansea, led by the inspiring and compassionate Pastors Dave and Emma Morgan and their incredible team.  Join them on their journey of faith and experience God’s abundant life in store for you!

Darren & Ingke

Born prematurely on the 17th of August 1971, Pastor Darren only weighed just over 1lb, had a hole in his heart, undeveloped lungs, chronic asthma, and other complications. The hospital informed his mother and father to prepare for the worst, but his father was unable to accept the report and fell on his knees, crying out to God. “Lord, if You heal him, we will dedicate and give him to You!” A week later, Darren was the talk of the hospital, totally healed and breathing by himself. This gave him the nickname ‘Hercules’ amongst the doctors and nurses!

Brought up under the ministry as a child, Darren has known the Lord most of his life. His father was mentored by the late healing evangelist A. A. Allen, and his mother had a singing ministry – she was the niece of the late Sally Bills, who wrote many songs including ‘It’s no long I that liveth, but Christ that lives in me‘. This had an influence on his mother, and the whole family would travel and minister together both in the UK and abroad, with Darren, his brother, and his sister singing with their mother on the platform before his father got up and preached. His family has a rich spiritual heritage. His grandparents were involved in the George and Stephen Jeffreys healing ministries, and Darren and his family were also part of the Henri revivals in Newark during the 1970s. Darren recalls sitting on Henri’s lap many a time talking about God! Henri Staples was baptised in the 1920s when Smith Wigglesworth laid hands on him.

Darren and his wife Ingke (pronounced ‘Inka’) met and got married in Shrewsbury in 2011 and then moved to Wales in 2012. They were called to Kings’ Church Swansea in December 2018 and immediately became part of the pastoral care team. After 4 years of serving on the team, Darren was ordained as a pastor. When asked once what difference ordination had made in his life, Darren’s response was “None at all! I just continue doing what I’ve always done. A pastor isn’t a pastor by title but by heart!” Nothing could be more true – his father once caught him standing in the middle of his bedroom when he was 6 years old, Bible in hand, preaching freedom in Jesus to a line of teddies sitting on his bed! Darren also runs the midweek Bible study (Knect) with Pastor Martin and looks after the in-house technology (including sound and media and the church website).

Born in Hameln, Germany in July 1978, Ingke used to attend church as a teenager and has always felt that God has had His hand on her life. She was confirmed in a traditional church but sensed deep down that there was always more than what she had experienced in her youth. After meeting Pastor Darren, they would talk into the early hours about the things of God, and this consequently set a fire burning within her. She was baptised later in Shrewsbury after marrying Darren.

Ingke has always had a huge heart for children and heads up the Kings’ Kids Church. She also runs her own childminding business from home and recognises that our children are the future of the church.

Both Darren and Ingke have a heart for prayer and run the weekly Kings’ morning prayer meeting online using Zoom. They are also on the worship team, Ingke currently learning to play the keyboard, and Darren is our resident drummer. Together, they have a heart for revival, to see the Spirit of God moving across the land of Wales once again
